Vaccine Rollout
As of 13 October, about a third of all adults in South Africa have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination dose. COVID-19 Cases
According to the latest stats from the Department of Health, 201 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on 12 October 2021, this represents 785 cases on a 7-day average. According to the NICD’s spokesperson Sinenhlanhla Jimoh, "the majority of new cases on Monday were from KwaZulu-Natal (28%), followed by Gauteng province (22%). Western Cape accounted for 16%; Eastern Cape
accounted for 14%; Northern Cape accounted for 5%; Mpumalanga accounted for 4%; Free State and North West each accounted for 3%, respectively; and Limpopo accounted for 2% of today's new cases". South Africa still has a long way to go before reaching immunity and therefore, it is important to continue adhering to all COVID-19 safety regulations.

UK lifts South African travellers off the COVID-19 red list
As of Monday 11 October, South Africans travelling to the United Kingdom will no longer have to endure an expensive 10-day hotel quarantine, provided that they produce full proof of vaccination, as Covid-related entry rules have been eased.
