Government to incentivise vaccination
According to The Department of Health, it is now working alongside business partners to introduce several new incentives to encourage South Africans to vaccinate, this is including R100 vouchers.
According to the Department’s spokesperson, Foster Mohale, ‘Vooma Vaccination Voucher’ forms part of the Government’s ongoing partnership with the country’s business sector and would not be directly funded by the government and would only be given to people over the age of 60 who get vaccinated in the month of November.
At his weekly health briefings, he shared that, current stats show that, three out of every five over-50s are now vaccinated, but if we can get close to five out of five by the end of the year, we will significantly dampen the power of the fourth wave.”
