Gap Cover
At the end of 2020, we implemented advanced structures in order to enhance the customer experience through increased service levels and a reduction in the costs of providing comprehensive Gap Cover. These structures are now embedded within our organisation and have helped us maintain 95% SLA compliance for the last 4 months. Kaelo is committed to providing excellent value through our products. In line with this commitment, our payment rate for valid claims is 99.53%

Unrest | Trauma and Stress Support
Over the last week, South Africa has witnessed an immense amount of violence and looting across Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal. Many business and lives in South Africa have been impacted with stress, anxiety and fear occupying most of our minds. VumaMoola has been rebranded to Kaelo Money
To align the VumaMoola brand with the Kaelo suite of products, VumaMoola will now be known as Kaelo Money. We continue to provide the same responsible lending service, now with a different name.
We decided to make this name change as it resonates with the fibre of who we are – Kaelo meaning “guardian”, therefore, with Kaelo Money we promise you a brand and service that will guide you to responsible lending.

Disaster Recovery Testing
Over the past few weeks, Kaelo has conducted our annual series of system related tests as part of our continued commitment to uninterrupted service delivery. All tests have been conducted successfully and we can confirm that we are prepared for any events should they occur.

POPI Update
As part of our preparation for the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 go-live date of 1 July, Kaelo partnered with Michalsons, a leading South African law firm specialising in Privacy and Data Protection.
Below are some of the initiatives we have put in place and ensure we are compliant with POPI Act:
- Protocols around data/information exchange;
- Requirement for consent;
- Keeping up-to-date records;
- Communication regarding changes to processes and protocols;
- Internal policies will be reviewed and enhancements will be made where appropriate;
- A POPIA clause is being drafted which will be added to Service Provider agreements; and
- Conducting regular testing of data security status.
